-  pack it all into some package format, e.g. .tar .rpm, .tar.gz

 -  make sure the name of the file has the format

      <package>-<version>.<extensions>

    <package> should be a unique name like 'xtc', <version> can be anything
    that identifies the particular release (should probably be matchable
    to the corresponding cvs tag), <extensions> should be one of
        .tar .tar.gz .tar.bz2 .rpm
    it is currently only used to identify package files in the distribution 
    diectories (and tell them from other files).

 -  make sure the <package> has a description entry in the file

      $distdir/description

    where $distdir is either
      /afs/ifh.de/group/apemille/Download/APEmille/
    or
      /afs/ifh.de/group/apemille/Download/apeNEXT/

    The format is simply 
      <package> <description>
    the parser splits after the 1st word.

 -  move your package to one of the above directories.
