In the local setup at Zeuthen, the temperature monitoring consists of three components :

• An AD converter (ADC-11) capable of reading several channels and making the readings available to some server via it's parallel port.
• One or more temperature sensors to be placed somewhere inside the APE rack. These are soldered to a standard 25 pin connector which in turn is connected to the ADC.
• A small linux kernel module that will make the readings available on the above Linux server under /proc/tempsens. (CVSROOT :ext:apem.ifh.de:/data/cvs/tempsens )
